Fallbrook Youth Soccer League (FYSL) was established in 1976 to fulfill the need in our community for recreational youth soccer. In the first year, 12 teams were formed. In the years that followed, as the largest youth sports organization in Fallbrook, FYSL now supports 38 recreational teams on average and 17 competitive (Villa FC) teams for the Fall season. FYSL also offers a Winter Arena program as well as a Spring recreational season to keep players on pitch. Annually, the FYSL programs support over 500 players in our local community!
In 2021, FYSL launches its 45th soccer season! FYSL functions as a non-profit organization and a member of California Youth Soccer Association - South (Cal South) and is affiliated with United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) and is composed of an entire volunteer Board of Directors and volunteer coaching staff.
Approximately 80% of FYSL players participate in the recreational program. To provide a balanced team concept, teams are formed using a rating system based on each player’s abilities, followed by a blind draft. Recreational coaches are volunteers, largely parents, who have stepped up to contribute to the success of the league. Volunteer coaches are supported with training guides and resources that focus on providing an environment of wholesome, competitive fun while developing good character, sportsmanship and teamwork as players develop their skills and learn the rules of the game.
As a community league, Fallbrook Youth Soccer relies solely on registration fees and community sponsors to fund each program. Volunteers are at the heart of FYSL, working hard behind the scenes to maintain the success of the organization for the youth in our community.
